FAQ: About Us And Our Projects

What is Storm in Heaven?
We're a group of fans that have formed a scanslation (from scan and translation) group. We import manga (Japanese comics), scan them, translate them, and insert the English translations into the scans for distribution. We do not scanslate series licensed for distribution in English, since it would take away from sales that support the authors and companies. We're utterly non-profit: strictly by fans, for fans.

How can I contact you?
For general site comments and questions, joint requests, or project details, please contact us here. Any offers for help or staff applications should be sent to Kalendel. For more information on joining, check out the this page.

What is your download policy?
All our projects may be downloaded from their respective project pages. Most are also available for direct online reading (through the [ro] links on each project page). We ask that other sites do not host our projects.

What's shoujo, shounen, and shounen-ai?
These are the types of manga we scanslate. Shoujo means for girls, and focuses on relationships and emotions. Shounen focuses on action. Shounen-ai are romances between two men. Other genre we do are Josei (aimed at mature girls), Seinen (aimed at mature boys), and Yaoi (containing graphic sexual situations between two men).

How can I join Storm in Heaven?
We're usually on the look-out for help. Please head over to our "Join Us" page for a description of scanslation positions and how to apply for each. We aren't always in need for each position; when we're recruiting, a notice will be posted in the updates section.

Are you open for joint projects?
If you're from another scanslation group and want to work on a project with us, please contact us with the project name, what your group would be willing to do, samples, and anything else you'd like us to know. We are always open to joint projects.

Are you going to do this project that the Italian SiH is doing?
The Italian and English sides are completely separate. While we do many of the same projects, we don't have any plans to match up. To see what projects we're planning on doing, please check out our future projects section.

When is the next release of my favorite manga going to be?
Honestly, we usually have no idea, and emails asking for this sort of information will likely be ignored. You can check the current status of each of our projects in the forum. Beyond that, you'll just have to be patient.

Why are you releasing my favorite manga so slowly? Can I help speed it up?
Either one of the steps is taking a long time (some manga just take a long time to do, since they're complicated), or the manga is stalled at some stage (due to a staff member being held up). If you want to help speed up a particular project, and have a skill to offer (that is, if you're able to help scan, translate, or edit it), feel free to email us.

There's this really cool manga! Can you scanslate it?
We will only scanslate manga that aren't licensed, and aren't being done by another group. If it isn't, and you have the manga to scan, read over the scanner requirements on the join us page and send us an email (or post in the forum). Honestly, we absolutely love being offered manga scans, and we'll check around to see if anyone's interested in translating it.
FAQ: About Credit

Disclaimer: Who deserves credit?
All manga are the property of their respective authors, and we intend no infringement. We merely translate and distribute their work in an effort to create a fan-base, which will hopefully be beneficial to the author. Should any author protest, we will immediately remove their work from this site.

Pretty layout! Where's the picture from?
The current layout was tossed together by Kalendel. The splash page uses an image from Sahara Mizu's "Bus Hashiru", while the main layout is from Yumeka Sumomo's "Tenguzin" (which another group is already scanslating).

Can I translate one of your projects for distribution in another language?
Please head over to our foreign translation page for information and a form to fill out.

Can we use pictures from your projects for layouts, wallpaper, or something else?
Sure, so long as you make no money off of it, and you credit www.storminheaven.net.

Can we host your projects on our site, giving you credit?
No. We offer all our projects for direct download, and even offer online reading for most of them, so it's unnecessary for anyone else to do so. If you'd like to spread the word about our projects, please just link to our site.
